Oversee the Building Division, manage personnel, enforce building codes, conduct on-site inspections, review building permit applications, maintain records of permitting and inspection activity, investigate complaints and violations, resolve customer service issues, attend Zoning Board of Appeals meetings, review zoning determination requests, interact with various departments for code-related needs, supervise inspection staff, lead permitting software improvements, provide guidance on applicable codes, attend staff meetings, be on-call for emergencies, perform special projects as assigned

High school diploma or GED, certification as a Local Building Inspector by BBRS, certification as a Building Commissioner per 780 CMR R7, four years of progressively responsible experience in general construction, proficiency in Microsoft Office and permitting technology, additional relevant experience beyond the minimum qualifications
Certification as a Local Building Inspector, State Contractor’s License, proficiency in Open Gov Permitting, strong communication skills, customer service orientation, problem-solving abilities, knowledge of State Building Code, Zoning Bylaws, and construction standards
